YEN TOWN BAND excited many people this week because the band reunited for the First Time in Nineteen Years.
YEN TOWN BAND is one of the legendary bands in Japan, and The band is an imaginary band which is only in a movie named Swallowtail, directed by Shunji Iwai. The band's vocalist is CHARA, a Japanese famous singer. This time, they appeared in an actual world and performed their numbers for the first time in nineteen years.
Actually, I didn't expect that CHARA sings with good voice because I thought that her glory days have already passed, but it was just needless worry. When she began to sing the first phrase of their song “Sunday Park” and I listened to her voice, I realized that she is still an incredible active player. The band's performance, all 10 songs for 70 minutes, was quite amazing.
Of course, her voice may have got worse compared with her young days', but she gave us something more than voices. Maybe, it is something that we can't record for a video and an audio source, so I hope that you experience their live performance if you have a chance.
Fortunately, they plan to release a new album next year, so we can expect to see their performance again. Don't miss their show when they perform again.
