Cool Guesthouses In Tokyo Vol. 1: “TOKYO HUTTE”, “Retrometro Backpackers”

TOKYO HUTTE's location is unbelievably good. It takes only 3 minutes to go there from Tokyo Sky Tree which is one of the best tourist spots in Tokyo. And, this guesthouse was made of a renovated old hardware merchant, so its interior is very cool. First of all, this guesthouse's sales point is definitely a coworking space set on first floor. As you can see from uploaded pictures, It's very cool and comfortable. The space is open, and there is electronic power supply and WiFi in that space. Coffee which is served there is delicious as well. Another interesting point is a bed room. Curtains of dormitory are made of Noren, which is Japanese store curtain, and there is also Tatami space in that room. These are interesting even more so for visitors from overseas. Moreover, the guesthouse has a great roof terrace. As I mentioned in the opening sentence, this hostel is near from Tokyo Sky Tree, so the view from the roof terrace is spectacular. In addition, there are some other good points such as pretty clean shower room and bathroom. This hostel's rate is very cheap(mixed dormitory $27, female dormitory $30) even though there are many favorable terms in this guesthouse.

Retrometro Backpackers is near from Asakusa station. This guesthouse's building used to be old Japanese folk house. Personally, I didn't feel good about messy appearance around this hostel's reception, but there is old good atmosphere all over the hostel. Open ceiling space of bed room looks amazing. Shower rooms and a bathroom are clean as well as TOKYO HUTTE. This guesthouse is located in Kappabashi which is one of the most famous wholesale districts in Japan, so you may be able to enjoy taking a walk around the area. There are many good old Japanese style cafes, and you can also find a lot of contemporary restaurants and shops if you walk toward Asakusa station. The rates are $22(mixed dormitory), $25(female dormitory). Amazingly, it is cheaper than TOKYO HUTTE's rate.

By the way, I couldn't realize that such guesthouses are increasing while I was living in Tokyo because I didn't need to stay at these guesthouses. This time, I was a kind of foreigner from Fukuoka, so I could see Tokyo with another point of view. It gave me fresh experience.
